Wedding Wednesday: Floral Design

All photos by Christian of  Foxhouse Studio
(see her Wedding Wednesday post HERE)

Happy Wednesday! I have another wedding post to share today and it is all about wedding flowers and design! I am featuring the amazing Suzie Bunn of Statice Floral and Event Design! When it comes to wedding flowers and floral design, it was hard to put into words my exact vision. I turned to Pinterest for visual inspiration but I think it is important to find a creator that just gets it... for me, that is Suzie. My experience with Suzie from start to finish was absolutely incredible. At our first meeting, at a cute local coffee shop, I felt inspired and excited. I felt that she did also, which was important to me. Logistically, Suzie was respectful of my budget, kind and responsive. The day of my wedding, she put me at ease with her professionalism, kind words, and positive smile! Suzie even jumped in and helped me place my Twigs and Honey clay floral crown in my hair! Thanks girl! As you can see from these photos, she is a true artist. She even used flowers and plants from her own personal garden to create a special touch in my bridal bouquet. She captured my feminine, modern, and bohemian vision and for this I am so grateful. Thank you, Suzie for sharing your talent and for making my wedding not only beautiful, but incredibly special.

Vintage Fall Finds: Coach Leather Bag

Dress: Old Navy| Bag: Vintage Coach by Magnolia Vintage Co. via Atomic Furniture and Design|
Boots: Old Navy (old, similar here)| Bracelets: Target (old, similar here)| Hair: Barefoot Blonde shade Peanut Butter and Jealous

My husband and I went on a day trip to Asheville NC where we explored some local bakeries and vintage shops. I found this amazing leather cross-body vintage Coach bag at a new local shop and I couldn't leave it behind. It matched my outfit for the day so I had to snap some pictures. This dress was a random find from Old Navy, it is currently on sale! I love the color and the sheen of the fabric makes it look a lot more expensive then it is. I think I may were this to a holiday party as well! Hope everyone has a great Monday! Check back this week for more content! Xxo, C

Five Tips: Dressing for Hot Fall Days...

Fall. Like most women, fall is my absolute favorite time of year. Not only for the cinnamon desserts, football games, and cooler weather; but, also for the fashion! Unfortunately, South Carolina hasn't gotten the memo yet on our fall desires. Pumpkins line our store entrances, Trade Joe's has their fall desserts stocked, and Target dollar spot has a host of Halloween items; yet, the thermometer continues to read high 80s-low 90s. How can I "dress for fall" with this continued heat wave? I've gotten a bit creative and have conjured up 5 ways to help create inspired looks while not roasting under an oversized sweater and leggings. Hope this helps my southern girls...

1. Wear a dress in a fall color
This is my go-to. Dresses are easy, comfortable, and look instantly put together. I've been seeking out greens, deep reds, and blacks that will allow me to blend in with the fall color pallet, yet stay cool.

2. Up your fall accessories and makeup game
I often tend to switch over my white nails, shimmery high light, and pink lip for dark nails, deeper contours, and smokey eye make up during the fall time. This allows me to get into the fall spirit. I love this makeup setting stray. (Full blog post to come soon on my everyday fall make up!)

3. Tie a flannel, cardigan, or denim jacket around your waist
This trick gives the illusion of fall layers without the sweat. It allows me to incorporate prints and textures.

4. Pair a dress with ankle booties
I often will wear my favorite summer dresses as long as possible, adding layers, or fall booties to accessorize them. I love how booties and dresses look together. It often adds a bohemian and relaxed vibe, which I love. Also, this look can be very flattering and elongate your legs!

5. Add a light-weight knit

My last tip requires giving-in a little. I have a few light weight cardigans that I reach for in fall. I pair them with dresses or shorts or skirts to stay cool yet still get that cozy, layered fall vibe.

Wedding Wednesday: Photographer: Christian Lemons of Foxhouse Studio

I am so excited to share this post with you all today because I can't even begin to explain how happy I was with our wedding photographer. Christian Lemons of Foxhouse Studio not only made my bohemian vision come to life, but she also captured emotional and fun moments that we will cherish forever.

My road to a wedding photographer wasn't an easy one. (I hesitate sharing this part of the story, but after talking to other engaged friends, I realize it is a more common road then just my experience). During the interview process, we encountered photographers who said they wouldn't photograph our wedding because they didn't care for the aesthetics of the venue and many other reasons. Yet, I don't want to focus on the negative, rather reiterate  that there is the right photographer out there for you, so don't let this interview process discourage you because it will turn out right in the end... especially if you book Foxhouse Studio.

My whole experience with Christian was fluid, professional, inspiring, and positive. Her upbeat personality and outlook on her business was captivating. Her portfolio and website speak for itself, yet I truly felt a connection to her work... one that I can't put into words. It was also the conversation, questions, and connection I felt that convinced us she was the one.

Living >1hour apart and my busy schedule, I wasn't able find the time to meet Christian in person prior to my wedding day but the day-of meeting was as if I had known her as an old friend. Christian calmed my nerves, organized our shooting, and began capturing moments right away.

She sought out creative locations around our venue working with the indoor/outdoor space, got to know my family members, worked well with other vendors, and was a true light on our day. The result are these stunning images.

Christian, I can not put into words what your works means to us. I will speak your praises always. Thank you from the bottom of my heart of this experience. You are a talent and beautiful soul.

Here we go...
